Suthee: Yoga for Advanced Students

Written on September 8, 2007 by KiwiPulse · Posted in Advertising · 6 Comments

I found this ads very amusing with their killing yoga’s position. This is a great way to become more flexible and in-tune with your body and mind! Many people find yoga easier to do than sports or other forms of exercise. Some hospitals and health center have yoga classes for women who are pregnant or have given birth. Senior citizens center may offer yoga classes for older people who want to gain physical strength or flexibility. Practicing the Yoga will oxygenate your blood, tone your muscles, and release toxins from your joints. The benefits by exercising regularly will increase your self-confidence, happiness, and overall health. Do you think you can ask your boyfriend or girlfriend to make these positions? That remind me that I should take a yoga’s course, for beginner of course. :D

Darth Vader: Helmet Art

Written on September 8, 2007 by KiwiPulse · Posted in Art, Video · 5 Comments

Who could be the most famous fictional character of all the time? I guess in the Star War’s universe it would be Darth Vader. Who didn’t hear about him? Vader’s name has become a synonym for evil. He was ranked third on American Film Institute’s 100 Heroes and Villains list in June 2003. One of the most iconic villains in film history. The concept of the Darth Vader was first imagined that he would fly through space to enter the ship, thats why a suit and breathing mask was necessitating. His powerful bass voice, coupled with his heavy breathing, is easily recognizable.

Early this year, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the first Star Wars film. The celebration was located at the C4 (Star Wars Celebration IV) at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, California. The celebration offered a record number of celebrities in the autograph hall, multiple exhibitors, a Star Wars art show, Lucasfilm archive exhibits, many fan oriented activities and a Darth Vader helmet. I have listed below some pictures of the 66 Darth Vader Helmets Decorated by Pop Artists for this Celebration IV.

My Collection of Crazy Buildings

Written on September 6, 2007 by KiwiPulse · Posted in Architecture · 8 Comments

Our ancient ancestors used to live in an artificial shelter 500,000 years ago. By the time homes were technologically advancing. Does that mean the human evolution depends on how we build homes? A building as a shelter represents a place of comfort and safety of the human habitat. Tell me if you can feel some comfort living in these crazy buildings below. Rock on! :D

Huge Sky Screen in Beijing

Written on September 5, 2007 by KiwiPulse · Posted in Architecture · 6 Comments

One of my favorite things that rock my world is to watch movies. I saw the trailer of the movie “Silk” which will be released this month. I wanted to know more about the history of Silk. Then I found the Silk Street, The Place, in Beijing. I know the movie is about a French man traveling in Japan and he becomes obsessed with the concubine of a local baron. Nothing to do with Beijing, but the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games is coming soon. As we all know, Olympic games will greatly stimulate economic development.

The Silk Street is a shopping center that can accommodates over 1,700 retail vendors. The street is very popular among the international tourists for their wide selection of counterfeit designer brand apparels. Two new retail centers is in development in Beijing’s central business district. You can see between those retail centers a huge suspended LED screen. Five individual displays have been combined to form the giant screen. It was built with an investment of RMB 250 million ($32 million). The Skyscreen is 250 m long and 30 m wide. It was designed by Jeremy Railton, president of Entertainment Design Corporation, who was designer of the Fremont Street Experience in Las Vegas.

I have added some videos from YouTube. I hope that will amaze your eyes!

Ryugyong Hotel: World’s Tallest Unfinished Hotel

Written on September 3, 2007 by KiwiPulse · Posted in Architecture · 15 Comments

I fall on something very weird today. Did you know that the world’s tallest Hotel could be in North Korea? The Ryugyong Hotel, the 105 Building, is a concrete skyscraper that was once intended for use as a hotel. The construction of the hotel has began in 1987 and has been ceased in 1992. Still today, nobody knows exactly why. Maybe due of the lack of funding, the Japanese newspapers estimated the cost of construction was US$750 million. The North Korean government is trying to invite foreign investment of US$300 million to improve and finish the hotel. In the meantime, it has removed the Ryugyong from maps. If it had it been completed, it would have been the world’s tallest hotel. The Ryugyong’s hotel planned 3,000 rooms and 7 restaurants. The fact that it is so huge, so strange, and incomplete make my mind boggle. I ‘d like to have a look inside myself.
