Today, I’m taking you to the second largest, longest, widest and tallest passenger ship ever built, the Queen Mary 2. The ship has a casino, a ballroom, a theater, five swimming pools, fifteen restaurants and bars, and a planetarium. What is the planetarium doing in this boat? The Queen Mary 2 can serve 2,620 passengers and 1,253 officers and crew. It costs US $900 million and 3,000 craftsmen necessary to build it, and approximately 8 million working hours. In total, 300,000 pieces of steel were used. The QM2 took it’s first sea voyage on 21 March 2003.

Can you imagine that the ship contains 3,000 telephones? The passengers consume annually more than 1.5 million of drinks. They also order 230,000 bottles of wine, 55,000 pounds of coffee, 7,000 boxes of strawberries, 38,000 pounds of smoked salmon, 198,000 pounds of pineapples and enough beef to supply a small city for a whole year.

I couldn’t find the price for a holiday cruise with them. I hope it’s free, I want to go! :D

All looks very grand - apart from the bedroom (cabins) which looked a bit pokey. I imagine that it costs a lot of money to go on this cruise liner. I want a groovier bedroom - with a sea view! I shall start saving up!

Wow the inside of that ship reminds me of my college dorm room from 20 years ago, although the ship’s room is nicer and tidier than my dorm room was. Hey, has anyone bought you a Smirnoff Ice yet?

I want to put something on my site that allows people to contribute to my fund for a new pair of Converse low tops. Now I never click on those types of icons, but I wonder if other people do. How’s that working for you?

All I received is enough to tips the Smirnoff Ice I bought, $1. :D

I cruised to Halifax on the QM2 last year. Nice boat, I was still discovering new bars after 4 days at sea. Highlight of the Halifax tour was, what else, the Titanic museum.

I used pictures from the QM2 when I was trying to find a photo for my website and blog, so all the pictures at http://myspace.com/michaeljamesh are from the QM2. You can also link through my blog, As Good As News http:michaeljamesh.blogspot.com. I will send the one picture that does not include me as a comment response through gmail so you can post it here if you like.
