Greenpeace: Everyone’s Entitled To An Opinion

Posted in Advertising

I’m very happy today, do you know why? The weather is finally getting nicer and I can feel that it is going to stay that way. This year have been the longest winter season I have experienced in my whole life. Can you believe that last week it was still snowing in Canada? It’s suppose to be the spring time where we can see the bunnies hopping around on the grass and eating some Romanesco broccoli. Just trying to be humorous! Let’s get serious now…my first thought of the warm weather approaching was that are we going to face severe climate change this year?

This reminds me of the message that Al Gore was trying to tell us in his documentary “An Inconvenient Truth”. If we do nothing about it now, it will be too late. We need Heroes that can save our world…Save the cheerleader, Save the world? I wish that it can be that simple, but it’s not. We don’t have super powers that can easily save our planet. But if we all work together we can make a big difference. If we care about our planet, we need to act now to make it a better place!

Why didn’t people vote for Al Gore instead of re-electing George W. Bush? It wasn’t me that contribute to Bush’s win because I’m not a U.S citizen. If you voted for George W. Bush I would like to know why!

OK, that’s enough with my opinion. Check out the ad campaign below entitled “Everyone is Entitled to an Opinion” which was commissioned by Greenpeace by a Chinese firm in Beijing, China. How ironic? Yes we all agreed that the Chinese are entitled to an opinion…just as long as it’s authorized by the government. And what’s more ironic is that Greenpeace, an environmental group, hired an ad agency from a country that’s famous for polluting the environment. What is your take on this ad campaign?

I agree with you in every word. All this makes me think more and more about all the power games in this world.

These look like good images for a humor site. But to think that these have been commissioned by Greenpeace makes them difficult to digest. Didn’t expect them to stoop to such levels.

Humor may yet win over where other emotions have not yet been able to impact. The short term vested interests, not willing to consider the impact on the total picture is unbelievable.

Al Gore’s latest slide show on TED is worth watching.

Sadly we are pawns in this world, and what will come of us is yet unknown…However, we must keep fighting for what we believe. Maybe the $4.00 per gallon of gasoline in the US will finally trigger another Boston Tea Party.;.

With oil prices reaching for the skies, it is electric vehicles that will show the way for the future!

  7. Dining Room Table on

Electric vehicles have their own problems. Thermal plants pollute with coal smoke. Hardly any hydro plants are possible any more. Nuclear plants have the great danger of leaks like Chernobyl.

Our grand children will be riding horses and bicycles like out great grand parents did and the world, if it survives till then, will be back to its original gentle and nice place to live in.

These are funny, yet sad because some people probably do think that way. Whenever something bad happens there’s always someone who will be ready to make money off of it.

Ironically, a nice and scary thought.

Images have a bigger impact then words. The effect has taken its toll as this is ideal viral marketing humour. The underlying messages effect us all.

Why you always make FUN with Mr. BUSH. There is nothing that he is doing result in climate change.

That’s what I’m reproaching to him. He did nothing to help our planet. He put more effort in the war in Irak than anything else that a president of the United States should do. :???:

Not quite as bad as you say Dining Room Table. Even if to take into account the emissions generated during production of electricity, the sum total of emissions generated by an electric vehicle are far less than a traditional gasoline powered car. so on a balance, an EV is far better for the environment.
