How I Boost My Entrecard Credits By Dropping
January 23, 2008 – 8:40 am | Written by KiwiPulse
For the past week, I have been focusing on promoting my blog through Entrecard. So far, I have spent over 3,000 credits on my advertising campaign with the expectation of receiving more visitors to my blog. But looking at my statistics it showed that I haven’t generated that much visitors by the advertising campaign (as you can see on the Advert Clicks chart below). The maximum clicks I received in one day this month is 66, which is not enough to buy me a beer. I wanted to cry after realizing that my 3k credits investment didn’t result in a successful advertising campaign!
So I decided to analyze the stats in further detail and discovered that the advertising campaign is not the most effective way to increase visitors. Don’t waist your credits on advertising campaign!
Car Drops - This chart shows the number of cards that were dropped on your blog each day. A good number of drops improves your advertising price, and your position in the Campaign listings.
Advert Clicks -This chart shows the number of clicks through to your site from the adverts you have bought. More clicks indicate a more successful advertising campaign, and more visitors to your site.

Dropping your card seems to be more successful that advertising campaign. In the beginning of this month, I didn’t participate much on the Entrecard community. I dropped my card only on the blogs that I visited frequently like JohnChow, Schwoit, BloggerNoob, etc. After discovering this simple effective strategy, I spent every single day dropping my card until I reach the maximum number of drops that Entrecard allowed, which is 301 drops per day. Look at the Card Drops, Organic Clicks and Your Drops charts, can you see a correlation?
Organic Clicks - This chart shows the number of clicks through to your site from the Entrecard website. More clicks indicate users and visitors to Entrecard find your card interesting.
Your Drops - This chart shows the number of cards that you dropped on other peoples sites. A good number of drops helps boost your visibility by putting your card in the site Inbox, as well as gaining you credits.

The correlation is that the more I increase my drops to other blogs the more drops I received from others, and as a result it increases my organic clicks. People are more likely to click on cards that are in their Inbox on the Dashboard page from their Entrecard account. Normally I would do the same as them because I want to reward the people who dropped their cards in my widget. You scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours, right?
I welcome everyone to write a recommendation about my blog on Entrecard. Please also feel free to share your Entrecard tips by commenting on this post.

Great post, In the beginning of my Entrecard addiction, I dropped until I had credits to purchase, and did that for awhile, and nothing really happened, so now I drop, comment if I want to, and go on. The commenting on people’s blog has been more efficient for responsive feedback from dropperbyers.

Hi,
When I first started I always dropped at least 200 cards a day and was number one in my category and always in the top 3 for most popular, the thing is it takes an hour a day to do that, an hour which I simply dont have anymore.

I will tend to agree the value of buying ads with your credits does very little for traffic.Just dropping cards, and leaving comments is a much better way to use entrecard.

I always click on your card when I see it because I like the design of your card. I can’t put my finger on exactly what it is… well… maybe it is the pink that draws my eye to it, now that I think about it.
Goes to show, having an attractive card is good marketing!
