IMAX 3D: Total Immersion

Do you remember the last time you went to watch an IMAX 3D movie? I notice that the majority of their movies tends to be documentaries ideally suited for institutional venues such as museums and science centers. It’s a true travel adventure each time I am at the IMAX because of the excitement following the cameras to the mysterious space aboard known as the Space Shuttle, to the tallest mountain of all Mount Everest, to the bottom of the wonderful Atlantic ocean, to the coldest place on earth Antarctic …and many other amazing places. These places, for you and I, are where we will probably have very little chances of putting our feet on, only if we are rich or lucky!
The IMAX movies generally have shorter running time than conventional movies lasting around 40 minutes, but that’s enough time to have a quick adventurous tour of the destination. Don’t worry about not being able to find an IMAX theater near you because there are over 280 IMAX theaters in 38 countries of which 60% of them are located in Canada and the United States. That must be an exciting experience although we still do not have it in the Philippines. What we have here are ocassional 3D movies with polaroid glasses. I will be the first to see the IMAX 3D films when they come here. Thanks for the post. God bless.

I found a company in California that manufacturers every type of 3D Glasses that exist. I had no idea there were so many applications. The ones used for Imax are called Polarized and have different angels so light hits the eye at differnt times.
