Look, there’s a giant spider! Run! Just kidding! This gigantic sculpture of the spider named “Maman” is 30 feet in height and width, with a sac containing 26 marble eggs. It’s one of Louise Bourgeois, the creator, famous sculptures. There’s one stainless steel version which is currently being lend to the Tate Modern in London. There are another six bronze casts located at National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa, State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Mori Art Museum in Tokyo, Samsung Museum of Modern Art in Seoul and Havana in Cuba. What a fine piece of contemporary sculpture that I would like to put in front of my house, if only I can afford it.

Thank you so much for the video, I have written about it in my latest post as it was too good just to stay in the comments
Have a great Christmas and a very Happy New Year!
I’m sure they’ll think of using this structure in a Giant Spider Movie or something!
Thanks for commenting on my blog and for your compliments!
Wishing you great holidays!
Sounds pretty stupid now but it was fun then. The other part is the hunt for spiders which we did in wooded areas where we used to live.
