McDonald: Use The Trash Can
Posted in Advertising
I have always been living near a McDonald’s restaurant and as a result I have seen so many ads from McDonald. It’s not just near home but wherever I go I see their ads. They sure do not give up in convincing people to consume their fast food? For me , being lazy at cooking doesn’t help much in escaping from them! And now they are putting plasma TV in their restaurants…I guess they want people to stay more longer to munch on more fast food or to eventually feel attached to the restaurant so that they will come back, who knows.
Here’s an advertising campaign completely different from what they are usually trying to promote. Instead of introducing a new menu they are reminding people to ‘use the trash can’. It’s nice to see they are trying to keep the Earth clean but I wonder if it’s more about good public relation for them. What do you think?

Social consciousness and McDonalds! Anyway, the ads are quite effective if only people will notice them! The media to choose will be the challenge.
Of all the litter I come across… McDonalds definitely takes the cake. You can’t walk down any block in Manhattan without seeing a McDonald’s cup or wrapper. Its good to see them being proactive in helping keep the earth cleaner.
I like these ads and yeah, they should help in getting people noticed about this important issue. Mabybe advertising through tv commercials will be more successful?

In my place Mconalds is the only 24 hours restaurant. It has lot customers everyday. I guess its adv which shown that they care about environmental issue is good to build good image and will attract more and more cutomers.
I am not sure do ads help at all. It’s the same thing with anti-smoking ads. People don’t see them. I asked more then 10 of my friends who smoke about the writings on the cigarette packs. They never noticed that. NEVER AT ALL.
I guess it’s all about what kind of person you are. Some of us care for certain issues, some of us do not.
Let’s start from ourself, so others will follow
