My friends and I we share something similar; we like to play poker in the weekend. We are not playing to ruin anybody, it’s just a source of entertainment for us when getting together. Occasionally, some of them will bluff by betting or raising with an inferior hand. This technique is often used in poker and is quite effective. Keep in mind to only bluff if you think that the other players have a small hand. If your bluffing skill is good, the other players will believe that you have a dominant hand and they will fold… and you are guarantee to win the pot. Isn’t that easy?

In my opinion you are taking a big risk by bluffing. Not every opponents will fold to the bluff and the possibility that someone will call is very likely. As a result you might lose all your bets. So not everyone can earn the ‘king of bluff’ title!

Below is the ad campaign by Live Poker Magazine saying you can bluff… to get an old lady arrested for robbery…to join the KKK group as a black man…to win a beauty pageant as a man. I think I prefer bluffing in a poker game and not anywhere else! Do you think it’s a good idea to bluff when playing poker?

Are you bored with all the Amnesty International ads campaign? I’m not and I am a proud supporter of Amnesty International who strive to help stop human rights abuses. Here is another one from Amnesty International France showing that your signature has the power.

Using petitions is very effective and powerful in pressuring changes from government officials. A petition usually involves a mass group of people coming together to champion a common cause. Signatures of millions of people on the petitions represent a powerful moral force and it’s one of the best way to get our voice heard by government officials.

Never underestimate the power of petition marketing, the results can be devastatingly effective!

Believe it or not squirrels does have the love for nuts. Over 20 years of research scientists at University of Alberta have concluded that red squirrels are able to predict when there will be plentiful of nuts on the trees they feast on. To take advantage of the harvest season about to occur, they remarkably produce more babies to give them a hand.

So when all the nuts in the world are gone into the finest chocolates…they decided to commit suicide! The idea for this ad campaign is NUTS! But overall well executed. What do you think?

Do you know what time is it? It’s time for KiwiPulse Dot Com to enter to another contest and hopefully still have the luck to once again win. The contest is from one of my favorite blog, Blog Oh! Blog, which I have been following since I started KiwiPulse Dot Com. It’s also where I got my Wordpress theme, Bob Version 1, in the archive section of Free Wordpress Themes.

Before getting into the details about the contest I would like to share some interesting facts about Blog Oh! Blog. The blog is owned by Jai Nischal Verma, a web developer based in New Delhi, India. Jai bought Blog Oh! Blog from the founder, Bob Jiwakacau, for $10K at a Sitepoint auction back in 2007. I have to say that he did a good job maintaining the blog and adding a variety of new premium Wordpress themes . Recently he released the Bob Version 3 theme, which of course is a must have item for bloggers…that’s why I planning to upgrade to version 3 very soon! Bob Version 3 is fully-loaded WorPress 2.5 compatible theme which comes with nifty JavaScript components to highlight contents more effectively.

Now here are the details…To thank all his blog readers, Jai is giving everyone a golden chance to bring home a brand new Sony PlayStation 3 plus a free PS3 video game of choice. The PlayStation 3 console is worth ~$400 and the video game is worth approximately $60. The prize will be shipped from Amazon, so wherever you are in the world you will be able to receive it ( that’s only if you win… ).

The deadline for the contest is May 21 2008. To participate in the contest you will need to follow the instructions and rules below (as stated by Jai on his blog) :

  • Post a review of Blog Oh! Blog on your website or blog including a link to this contest.

Remember if you do not participate, you have ZERO chance to win! Good luck everyone! :P

Do you know how clean our beaches and oceans are? The best people to ask is surely the Surfrider Foundation, a non-profit environmental organization whose main focus is the protection and enjoyment of the world’s oceans, waves and beaches for all people through conservation, activism, research and education. The organization was founded in 1984 by a handful of visionary surfers in Malibu, California. Today the Surfrider Foundation have over 50,000 members and 80 chapters worldwide.

They bring us this ad campaign from Saatchi & Saatchi with all kinds of surprises that we may find in our beaches and oceans. Will you enjoy your time on the beach with these Catch of the Day? :???:

To put beach pollution into perspective, trash was collected from various beaches, packaged it to look like seafood and displayed it at local farmers’ markets. This is the print extension for those who couldn’t actually make it to the market.
