Amnesty International: China Is Getting Ready

When I first saw these ads, I didn’t know much about Amnesty International and their mission in the world. After some digging I’ve learned that the Amnesty focus on five key areas: Women’s Rights, Children’s Rights, Ending Torture and Execution, Rights of Refugees and Rights of Prisoners of Conscience. Their primary mission is to undertake research and action focused on preventing and ending grave abuses of the rights to physical and mental integrity, freedom of conscience and expression, and freedom from discrimination, within the context of its work to promote all human rights.

In the name of ensuring stability and harmony in the country during the 2008 Olympic Games, the Chinese Government continues to detain and harass political activists, journalists, lawyers and human rights workers. Get involved www.amnesty.sk.”

Camping is the best outdoor recreation activity to get in touch with nature. Everyone sometimes need to get away from the civilization and simply enjoy the nature. But the forest is not the best suitable place for us to live. Dealing with the wildlife, climate, animals might be difficult for us to survive. Why not live like the Ewoks? The Ewoks are the fictional species that looks like a teddy-bear in the Star Wars movie. Their villages are built generally between trees and they use the forest floor to hunt. Crazy Cube House in Rotterdam

If you get a chance to walk on the Overblaak Street in Rotterdam, Netherlands. You could see these 32 cube houses all attached to each other. This set of innovative houses was designed by an architect by the name of Piet Blom in 1984. Each cube house has three floors. The reception, the kitchen and the living room are on the first floor. The bedroom and bathroom are on the second floor. The third floor is used sometimes as a small garden. I’m still amazed how people can live in these tiny houses.
