The church leaders believe that their ‘King of Kings Statue’ is the World’s Largest Christ (or at least the World’s Largest half-buried Messiah) and have submitted it for consideration in the Guinness World Records. This sculpture is located in Ohio, United States at the Solid Rock Church. To complete this 62 feet tall and 1600 lbs statue over 8000 hours of effort were put in development and installation. As I know the biggest statue of Jesus Christ is in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where the Christ of Redeemer stands to 130 feet tall and weighs 1 400 000 lbs.

The local residents have given many nicknames to this statue such as “Giant Jesus”, “Touchdown Jesus” and “Drowning Jesus”. If you are planning a visit to this Solid Rock Church someday, don’t forget your football ball!

Fantastic statue ambiance and splendid photography. The last one particularly is very well composed.

It looks to me like He’s washing the wounds right after the Crucifixion. This is a stunning sculpture which could touch a lot of people. Imagine its nighttime and after an eloquent and stirring sermon, the pastor booms: “Let cast our sins, forgive all who have sinned against us, and follow Jesus to Heaven”. The lights go on and music blares with trumpets, cymbals, etc… err, ahh… I’m getting ahead of myself here.

The photos are very good and inspiring.

–Durano, done!

I’m from the area and thanks to a song by Heywood Banks it will forever be “Big Butter Jesus”.

Is there a competition going on about the biggest statue  Well the pictures are beautifully composed. I love them.
I love the layout of your blog also. I wish I could have a layout like this.

My how tasteful, not grotesque in the least. I’m glad they spent the money on such a beautiful statue rather than the poor and needy.

This statue highlights the hypocrisy of established religion. Well done.

Couldn’t the money have been used for something better? Like helping people?

…waste of time and money.

Have they constructed the rest underground?? Surely that’s the only way it would be eligible for a record given the Rio statue, but then its definitely a waste of money! Very strange.

Blessed all who looks upon the lord…
sees there soul who once were lost,he
is our rock we seek our refuge with that grace
he returnth our souls to be all inspiring aspirations
for all, for ye is the light the true light everyone sees…

Bless your beautiful church, may all your days be
peacefilled,
