The Art Of Animated Light Pen
Posted in Animation, Art
I have been seeing this kind of art on YouTube. The technique is simple, all you need is a pen light and a digital camera using the long exposure setting. For example, you will need to set your digital camera for a very long exposure (1 hour and more) and then walks around with a flash light or pen light. If you move around enough in a long exposure you will be invisible on the landscape, not the light. Then you should have in mind what you are going to draw.
It’s definitely something I will try with my friends on a raining day :D

It’s actually a combination of long exposure and stop motion photography. You take a 1-2 sec exposure where you draw one picture with your pen, then take another exposure where you draw the next picture like you would draw for animation. Then you put all the frames together to make the movie.
