The Art Project: A Project Made For Artists
Posted in Art, Painting
Have you heard of the saying: “I don’t know much about art, but I know what I like”? I can’t remember the author of this saying but it makes sense. The more exposure I have to art, the more admiration I have for each unique and exquisite piece of art. Blogging has given more opportunity to visit artists’ websites, museums, galleries, art schools. This experience has not only open my mind to art but it also inspire me to seek for more beautiful pieces to admire.
Through my journey of searching I came across some great pieces (see below). What’s special about the website that offer these pieces is that it’s a place where artists can offer their artwork to the world; it’s like an art market where you can buy and sell art. Art admirers can view all kinds of artworks, from paintings to photography and more, by various talented artists. The artists of the website called this venture The Art Project; a place where artists will benefit in every way and where art lovers can buy artwork online with reasonable prices.
Art isn’t always pretty, some are difficult or even painful to look at. Try to see beneath the surface of the object, to imagine the artist’s experience while making it, his or her unique viewpoint. Enter the experience with an open mind and you will leave with a fresh perspective.
I am not much of an artist, but if you are I encourage you to submit your work. Who knows…you might be able to sell art online successfully!

Many decades ago, I asked a famous artist precisely the same question. He told me that the best way to judge the value of an art work is to put it to the like test. He elaborated by saying that if as an onlooker, one likes it, it is a good piece of work otherwise not. Using that yardstick, I have bought some paintings whose value have appreciated over the years.
This is a good site for artists as well as some buyers who may not otherwise get to see such works.
