Tips: Use Your Creativity To Promote Your Blog

December 26, 2007 – 1:42 am | Written by KiwiPulse

I received recently a common question by my fellow readers asking me, “How do I promote my own blog?”. You might have a great blog but no traffic or it’s hidden from your readers. Well, using your own creativity to promote your blog is the best strategy. I will list below my advices that you can use to promote your blog.

Most of the time, I use StumbleUpon which is a great community for sharing websites, videos, photos and more. This community is like the virus propagation. It’s all about sharing your discoveries to people that have the similar interests as you. My blog usually post a lot of pictures, so I use this community to share my photos and my discoveries. You can also use other communities such as Digg, Redit, del.icio.ous, Facebook and Newvine to increase your traffic.

Another way to promote your articles is to write comments. You will think that I might be crazy or is some kind of Evil blogger. Not at all, while you’re writing comments the other bloggers will ask for your URL Address. Don’t always post the same address every time. Why don’t you use this opportunity at your advantage by giving different addresses from your blog? This way you can earn many links from their blog promoting your latest articles.

Besides the advices above, I strongly encourage you to use your creativity to come up with other ways of promoting your blog. Good luck on your promotion and remember creativity is the key!

Stay tuned for other great tips in the New Year…

I made a viral video for xmas on my site internetdreamer.co.uk which brought in quite a lot of traffic. I should really have stumbled or dugg it to try and push it a little further, but xmas is always a busy time! :)

A great post!

It beats me how sometimes people can be so creative in their writing, and then neglect such simple means of promotion.

My traffic from Stumbleupon has fallen off a bit since I hearing people complain about submitting one’s own website - I stopped doing it until I can see which way things are going to go.

In the meantime, I use a Wordpress plugin which displays the latest post of bloggers who leave a comment - whuch in turn brings them back as well!

Here’s to a great 2008 for all!
